Spitfire Reverse/Brake/Turnsignal PCB Installation Instructions

Turnsignal, Brake, and Reverse rear boards are described here since the rear lenses are separate and should be removed Turnsignal, then Brake, then Reverse.

Installation should be done Reverse PCB and lens, then Brake PCB and lens, Then Turnsignal PCB and lens.

New lens gaskets will be provided which have slots cut out to accept the PCB spacers to hold the boards in place.

The boards are plug-n-play.

1. Remove the bulbs and sockets from the rear fixture

2. Remove the rear fixture and do the work on a bench or table.

3. Remove the turnsignal, brake, and reverse lenses in this order.

4. Remove the gasket from between the lenses and the fixture.

5. Place the new gasket in place in the fixture. Notice the slots cut in the gasket. The spacers on the PCBs will sit in these slots. Make sure the spacers sit in the slots as the spacers are designed to span from the lens to the fixture. If the gasket is squeezed under the spacers it make cause excessive stress on the lens.

6) Starting with the reverse boards, fish the wires through the bulb hole. Make sure the spacers on the PCB line up with the slots cut in the gasket.

7) Reinstall the reverse lens making sure the board sits flat and the spacers are in the holes cut in the gasket. Put the 2 screws holding the reverse lens in but don't tighten all the way.

8) Install the brake board, fish the wires through the bulb hole. Make sure the spacers on the PCB line up with the slots cut in the gasket.

9) Reinstall the brake lens making sure the board sits flat and the spacers are in the holes cut in the gasket. Put the 2 screws holding the brake lens in but don't tighten all the way.

10) Install the turnsignal board, fish the wires through the bulb hole. Make sure the spacers on the PCB line up with the slots cut in the gasket.

11) Reinstall the turnsignal lens making sure the board sits flat and the spacers are in the holes cut in the gasket. Put the 3 screws holding the turnsignal lens in but don't tighten all the way.

12) Now tighten all the screws holding the lenses.

13) Install the rear fixture on the car tying the 3 black wires to the screw posts on the fixture.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS:

14) Remove the reverse bulb AND socket disconnecting the wires from the vehicle.

15) Connect the reverse wires to the vehicle wires: RED goes to Reverse.

16) Remove the brake bulb AND socket disconnecting the wires from the vehicle.

17) Connect the brake wires to the vehicle wires: RED goes to the brake wire; BROWN goes to the running light wire.

18) Remove the turnsignal bulb AND socket disconnecting the wires from the vehicle.

19) Connect the turnsignal wire to the vehicle wires: RED goes to the turnsignal wire.

NOTE: If the running/brake light is bright on running lights and dim on brakes, reverse the RED and BROWN wires.
